"Mom, I think we should definately have a party this year. To celebrate me." And boy, is this kid worth celebrating. I promised him whatever he wanted if he'd only agree not to have a birthday and get older - even a pony, which I thought would do the trick. But he was determined to turn four, and so, finally, we conceded.
Max is perpetually cheerful and full of fun. He is complimentary and affectionate, making him a favorite with his aunties ("Oh Auntie Kafryn, your hair looks so beautiful today!"). He idolizes his Uncle Pug, loves football and rodeo, and has a skull made of steel.

Happy Birthday, Max!!!! I'm excited to get to see a little glimpse of you as you grow. It's neat to see Jack in your smile, and that you share your sister's blue blue blue eyes.
But I'm afraid I'm right there with your mom on this one . . . I'd have gone in on the pony to slow you down a bit!
I love that kid! Great pictures Miriam!
We love that boy too! Happy Birthday Max!
And by the way- he sure looks like a Mikkelsen!! If you get credit for his good looks Miriam, can we take credit for his cheerful ways?
He is pretty much the perfect child--"perfect" not being defined as a child unable or unwilling to cause a little trouble, because then he wouldn't be perfect...
